Chasing an unpaid invoice, an unreturned deposit, or a loan a friend never repaid is exhausting — and most people put it off because the process feels opaque. It does not have to be. Ontario's Small Claims Court handles claims up to $50,000, and a licensed paralegal can represent you from the first demand letter to enforcement of the judgment.

What is the difference between a paralegal and a lawyer?
In Ontario, paralegals are licensed and regulated by the Law Society of Ontario, carry professional liability insurance, and are authorized to represent clients in specific forums: Small Claims Court, the Landlord and Tenant Board and other tribunals, Provincial Offences Court, and certain summary conviction criminal matters. Within that scope, a paralegal provides representation — often at a lower cost than a lawyer.
Do I have to hire you for the whole case?
No. Alongside full-service representation I offer limited scope retainers: you hire me for one defined piece — drafting your claim or defence, preparing you for a hearing, appearing at a single date, or writing a legal opinion — for an agreed price.
Do you handle traffic tickets?
No. I take criminal and quasi-criminal Provincial Offences Act matters, but not Highway Traffic Act charges. If you have a traffic ticket, I am happy to point you toward someone who does.
